This section provides
additional information regarding any interested participants who wants to volunteering for teaching.
What are the minimum
qualifications for acting as teacher?
- Interest to teach shlokas.
- Time Commitment for agreed batches.
- Ability to communicate with patience with children.
- Reasonable control over language of instruction.
- Preparedness to learn and unlearn what is wrongfully or differently learnt.
- Mandatory Compliance with instructions regarding pronunciation and script given by Vedanta Bharati.
Should teachers give
commitment for twoyears?
- If possible, yes.
- If that’s not possible, you can teach one or more stages, take a break and take same or other stages later. Else you may take the decision stage by stage.
What if teachers
cannot take classes due to personal reasons on certain days?
- We shall provide substitute faculties.
- All teachers will be allotted batches and are expected to be substitutes for other teachers in case of need.
- The substitute facility is however to be used minimally.
What training will
we get to teach?
- Training in Shlokas and Stotras.
- Training in Transliteration.
- Training in handling google meet class.
- Training in teaching skills and class handling.
How will teachers training
be conducted?
- Teachers’ training will be generally online.
- Initial training shall be intensive training of 5 to 6 days of 1.5 to 2 hours each.
- We may have offline Parayanas, trainings and meetings once in a while for teachers for later stages.
- Teachers will be given self-learning kits for the initial stages, to learn on their own.
- Then we shall have classes by senior teachers to teach the new teachers.
- Mentors will be allotted to those who need additional support.
Will there be tests
and do we have to evaluate?
- Yes
- Teachers will have to evaluate students of other batches.
How will teachers be
selected and is there any process?
- Yes, teachers will be selected based on correctness and clarity of pronunciation of the given shlokas and ability to teach.
- They will be required to mandatorily attend training and share their audio recordings for evaluation.
- They will be allotted mentors if required.
- Once they clear the process, they will be allotted batches to teach.
What support will teachers
get during teaching?
- One senior teacher and one coordinator will be allotted for each batch.
- Coordinator will handle all issues other than doubt regarding pronunciation and subject of the Shlokas, including handling parent or child queries, access to learning tools and any other challenges that may arise during teaching.
Is there any
financial benefit involved?
- No, the entire activity is being carried out as a service.
- We will not collect money from any students nor pay money to any person.
Should teachers have
Sanskrit background before teaching?
- No.
- Knowledge of Sanskrit is not required.
- Both teachers and children will be taught to read shlokas in transliterated form to get correct pronunciation.
Should teachers have
musical background before teaching?
- No.
- All Shlokas and Stotras are taught in easy tunes which are repetitive.
- The tunes/raga will be taught during the training sessions.
- Audio recordings will be provided to assist in self-learning the tune.
